California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents. It describes how we collect, use, disclose, and sell personal information, and explains the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. Personal Information We Collect

We have collected the following categories of personal information from consumers within the last twelve (12) months:

  • Identifiers: Real name, email address, account name, IP address, and unique device identifiers.
  • Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): Name, email address, and phone number (if provided).
  • Commercial information: Records of user-generated content, reviews, ratings, and favorites.
  • Internet or other similar network activity: Browsing history on our site, search history, information on your interaction with our Services, and information about your device and browser.
  • Geolocation data: Approximate location derived from IP address or precise location if you grant permission.
  • Visual information: Profile photos and uploaded images you choose to share.

2. Sources of Personal Information

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following sources:

  • Directly from you when you create an account, submit content, or contact us.
  • Automatically when you use our Services (e.g., cookies, analytics).
  • From third-party authentication providers (e.g., Google) when you choose to sign in with social media.

3. Use of Personal Information

We may use the personal information we collect for the following business purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our Services.
  • To create and manage user accounts.
  • To display user-generated content such as reviews and photos.
  • To communicate with you, including responding to inquiries and sending newsletters (with your consent).
  • To personalize your experience and provide location-based services.
  • To detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity.
  • To debug and repair errors in our Services.
  • To conduct analytics and improve our Services.

4. Sharing Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information to third parties for a business purpose. When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter into a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.

In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose:

  • Identifiers
  • Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute
  • Commercial information
  • Internet or other similar network activity
  • Geolocation data

We disclose your personal information for a business purpose to the following categories of third parties:

  • Cloud service providers (Firebase/Google)
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics)
  • Email service providers (Mailgun)
  • Security and fraud prevention services (Google reCAPTCHA)

5. Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months, and we do not sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization.

6. Your CCPA Rights and Choices

The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.

A. Right to Know

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:

  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting that personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.

B. Right to Delete

You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from your profile page.

C. Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Information

You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. As stated above, we do not sell personal information.

D. Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

7. Exercising Your CCPA Rights

To exercise the rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by either:

  • Using our contact form on the website.
  • Accessing your profile page to export or delete your data.

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.

You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

8. Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We will deliver our written response by email. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request's receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable.

9. Changes to This Notice

We reserve the right to amend this CCPA notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this notice, we will post the updated notice on our website and update the notice's "Last Updated" date.
